two cars looted by thieves – Il Meridiano News

NAPLES – Undisturbed and in broad daylight, they looted two cars in rapid sequence on the Chiaia Riviera around lunchtime on Sunday, when the area was crowded with Neapolitans and tourists intent on enjoying the seafront and shopping.

The perpetrators of the raid acted with extreme disregard for the video surveillance cameras present in the area at the entrance to Villa Pignatelli, at approximately 12.40pm. At that moment, the president of Confindustria Campania, Costanzo Iannotti Pecci, parked his Smart, and shortly after, Pier Luigi Petrone, president of Assomma, arrived on his scooter. A few minutes later, the cars were vandalized: Iannotti Pecci’s Smart was found without the rear lights and with the tailgate forced, while a Fiat 500 Hybrid parked next door had its side window destroyed and the internal console torn off to steal the stereo and the screen.

The authorities were alerted immediately, but the nearby police station was closed at that time. The dynamics of the theft, still to be clarified, would have occurred under the indifferent eyes of passers-by and tourists.
