Nothing can be done for the eight-month-old baby involved in a car accident that occurred in the Bat yesterday. The little girl, from Orta Nova, in the Foggia area, died in the San Giovanni Rotondo hospital, Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza, where she was hospitalized. The injuries sustained in the impact, which occurred on Highway 16, were too serious. In fact, her condition immediately appeared critical, so much so that the little girl, who was urgently transported by helicopter, was hospitalized in a medically induced coma. The parents and little sister of the 5-year-old girl were also injured in the accident. The latter is still hospitalized in the San Giovanni Rotondo hospital, while her mother, in critical condition, is currently hospitalized in the Andria hospital.
According to an initial reconstruction of the facts, the car in which they were traveling was traveling along the 16bis when it went off the road and ended up against the barriers. The causes are yet to be established. The impact was strong enough to throw mother and daughter out of the cockpit. The 118 emergency services arrived on site immediately. The police are investigating the matter.
