The police are deployed in anti-riot gear throughout the country to silence any demonstrations and/or riots.
At the moment, the rest of the bodies or the helicopters have not yet been found: adverse weather conditions are raging in the area of the crash and three rescuers are also missing. Reuters reported on Iranian television that rescue teams from across the country have traced the exact location of the helicopter, but have not yet arrived on site.
The precise location of the helicopter crash has recently been identified. An official said that a few minutes ago a signal was picked up from the helicopter and the mobile phone of one of the crew members at the crash site. He adds that military forces are heading to the location, but heavy snow is raging and it will take them hours to reach it in a very difficult mountain area.

L’Iran has requested a search and rescue helicopter with night vision from Turkey, Turkey’s disaster management agency AFAD says. 32 Turkish mountaineers from the search and rescue personnel and 6 vehicles from the AFAD provincial directorates of Van and Erzurum decided to arrive in the region. Furthermore, the mountaineers’ search and rescue personnel, consisting of 15 people each from Ankara, Diyarbakır and Konya, are on alert.
Turkey has made available a high-altitude Akıncı drone and a night vision Cougar-type helicopter in search and rescue operations for President Raisi and his delegation, the Turkish Defense Ministry says.
The European Commissioner for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response, said: “Upon request for assistance from Iran, we are activating the European Copernicus EMS rapid response mapping service in view of the crash of the helicopter carrying the President of Iran and his Foreign Minister. #EUSolidarity“.
