A new request for a meeting was made by CGIL-CISL-UIL, following a physical attack by a citizen against a social worker which occurred in March 2024.
The facts: the citizen is without an appointment and is immediately noticed that he is in a clear state of agitation, he arrogantly avoids the shop assistants and quickly heads to the room of the social worker in the adult area. He immediately starts kicking and punching everything in front of him, chairs, desks and, not happy, he throws a sheet of paper in the social worker’s face.
The request for his Social Application had been satisfied but this most likely did not interest him, in fact he claimed the inclusion allowance despite not having the requirements established by current legislation. The situation could have taken on much more serious tones and it is not the first time that situations like these lead to real tragedies that end up in the news.
An immediate request from the Trade Unions. dated March 25th to the Management and the President of the V Municipality to schedule a series of meetings to address the problem of staff shortages starting in key sectors such as Social Educational Services and Registry Services.
Unfortunately so far not even a hint of feedback.
But the union does not give up and, following two new criminal acts against two school buildings, the unionists of UIL municipality V, also pushed by the employees, return on May 17th to ask for a meeting with the Management and the President Mauro Caliste in order to define once and for all concrete actions to protect the safety of both the personnel most exposed to the public and of the school buildings which have now become veritable supermarkets available to crime.
Will there be a meeting or will the Town Hall continue its policy of silence? To find out we’ll just have to wait.
