The Greek tragedy protagonist at Villa Trabia of Palermo for the “May of Books”, thanks to the literary work by Salvatore Parlagreco entitled “Aeschylus, the enigma of the murderous eagle”.
Mystery, essay, investigation: all this together, the protagonist is the great Greek playwright, his turbulent life at the dawn of Athenian democracy, his Sicilian nature, his extraordinary modernity, his death cloaked in mystery.
Violent death, which has survived to this day with a legend which has the flavor of a joke, because it attributes the crime, perpetrated in Gela, to a short-sighted bird of prey. The impossible, the absurd. The playwright Filippo Amoroso, Francesco Palazzo, Anna Balistreri and the author unraveled the mystery in front of a large audience.
Intense afternoon, during which tyranny and democracy virtually came onto the “scene”, the Universe regulated by laws linked to divinity, the predominance of the religious sphere, the power of seers.
And gods, heroes, men and women oppressed by fate and traditions, against which Aeschylus raises the barrier of doubt, which subverts every rule and demands a radical ethic of responsibility.
