Condolences for the death of Renato Scotti of the Benedict XVI cultural center

He died at the age of 74 Renato Scotti President of the Benedict XVI Cultural Center of Cornate d’Adda and Verderio.

A sudden death that left the city of Cornate d’Adda dismayed.

Renato Scotti

Graduated in modern literature from the State University of Milan, after teaching with particular care at the Jacopo Nizzola Institute in Trezzo he dedicated himself to study and research.

He dedicated almost fifty years of his life to study. He was passionate about medieval art, literature, music and together with other friends he founded the Benedict XVI Cultural Center in 2005. A simple person with great faith and culture, in recent years he has competently suggested high-level initiatives to our Cultural Center, placing a particular attention to beauty and art. In recent years, our association has stood out for the numerous initiatives that have been proposed: from guided tours to conferences on art, from the presentation of literary texts to interreligious debates, from concerts of sacred music and organ to lessons on various authors.

Renato was a great admirer of the thought of Benedict XVI and was inspired by his teachings to propose the initiatives of our Cultural Center.

We are losing a President who was a point of reference and the fulcrum of most of the initiatives that have taken place in recent years: he promoted culture with passion and love, with the intention of enriching the entire community.

There were many certificates of esteem and gratitude that the association received. The awards came not only from the citizens of Cornate d’Adda and Verderio, but also from people from neighboring towns.

During the presentation of the exhibition “La via della Bellezza”

He leaves an unfillable void and a lot of affection that the community of Cornate d’Adda and Verderio attributed to him during his funeral which took place on the afternoon of Tuesday 14 May at the parish church of San Giorgio in Cornate d’Adda. A sober and decorous celebration accompanied by the San Giorgio Choir and the organist M° Roberto Maria Cucinotta with music by JS Bach.

Thank you Renato for your testimony and your commitment.

The friends of the Benedict XVI Cultural Center
