The Carabinieri of the Partinico Company, as part of the project to spread the “Culture of Legality”, welcomed the children of the “Alessandro Manzoni” State Comprehensive Institute of Montelepre into their barracks in Via Edmondo De Amicis.

The event was attended by students from the eighth grade classes and their accompanying teachers. The students visited the premises of the new barracks, simulated inspection operations in a crime scene set up for the occasion as well as saw and tested the vehicles and equipment supplied.

Furthermore, demonstrations were organized with the special departments of the Army.

The Carabinieri Dog Unit of Palermo Villagrazia unleashed Ron, a German shepherd specialized in the search for narcotic substances, who then let himself be petted by the boys, who did not hesitate to play with him and bombard the specialized operator who leads him with questions. . Alongside him, Vera, a Belgian shepherd, also showed off her skills in searching for weapons and explosives, finding, without difficulty, a toy weapon that had been hidden.

The soldiers of the Operations Department – Investigative Unit of Palermo, specialized as anti-sabotage bomb disposal experts, also took part in the initiative with a demonstration in which they used their “secret weapon”, the TIGR robot, which, skilfully maneuvered by the operator, approached a suspicious package, neutralizing the threat.
