In Saronno, a man voluntarily cut the gas pipe that powered the stove in the house and attacked the firefighters who intervened following a report from the neighbors.
A tragedy came close to occurring during the night between Thursday and Friday 17 May, which was only avoided thanks to the timely intervention of the fire brigade in an apartment building in via San Dalmazio in the Cascina Ferrara district. Here, just before 1 am, a 56-year-old man cut the gas pipe of the kitchen stove. The gas quickly spread through the apartment but also into the common areas of the condominium. Luckily other condominium owners noticed and immediately raised the alarm.

The firefighters reached the property and knocked several times on the door of the apartment from which the strong smell of gas was coming. At that point the tenant opened the door and rushed towards the firefighters to try to push them away. The firefighters managed to block him until the police arrived
Once inside the apartment the firefighters found that the stove supply pipe had been cut.
The tenant of the apartment was transported to Saronno hospital, escorted by the police to whom he will have to answer for his action which could have had tragic consequences for the entire condominium.
