COLLE UMBERTO (TREVISO) – Rustico on fire, perpetrators identified; they are three very young people aged 14 and 16. The fire broke out last April 8th, around 6pm, in a privately owned building used as a barn and tool shed in via Congie in Colle Umberto.

They set fire to some straw and flee: what happened

The first results of the activity carried out by the soldiers of the Carabinieri in collaboration with the Fire Brigade and the local police on the episode have made it possible to trace a small group of three very young people from the areaaged tbetween the ages of 14 and 16, whose conduct, which is criminally relevant, will now be subjected to scrutiny by the Juvenile Judicial Authority. From an initial reconstruction of the story, the minors would have accessed the facility illegally and, with a lighter, they would burn some straw in a room inside the barn until, after realizing that a car had arrived, they would have tried to quickly put out the fire and then fled. Evidently, however, the flames had subsequently regained strengthextending to the ancient structure. Fortunately, there were no injuries in the fire but the community was deeply affected because, in the previous days, in other rural areas of the Vittoria area, there had been incidents of fire damage and vandalism of wooden structures.
