The gas distribution company of the Estra Group has decided to reduce the costs of connections to the natural gas network in numerous municipalities in the areas served.

The objective of the campaign is to give a further concrete reason to connect to the network and to promote the switch to methane gas compared to other more expensive, more polluting and less safe fuels.

The campaign involves the application of a “zero cost” tariff to all requests on the natural gas network served by Centria, for the execution of a new connection, underground and/or overhead, including modifications and movements, up to a diameter of DN 90 mm. included and for a maximum length of ml. 20 from the main pipeline.

The cost of installing a possible gas pressure reduction unit will be borne by the person requesting the connection, only if it has a flow rate greater than 50 Smc/h.

Further concessions are also provided for all requests for estimates for the extension of the natural gas network, functional to the connection. The discount on the extension will be equal to the cost of ml. 30 of network creation for each potential customer to be connected.

The campaign was presented this morning at a press conference in Arezzo by the President of Estra, Francesco Macrì. The collaboration of Coingas, particularly towards the Municipalities, was ensured by the Sole Administrator Paola Petruccioli who intervened together with Ivan Lumini, head of Centria’s Operations area, who illustrated the technical details of the operation.

“Investing in infrastructure has always been at the center of the Estra Group’s strategies as well as one of the sectors considered fundamental for the country’s energy transition– he declares Francesco Macrìpresident of Estra – Among fossil fuels, natural gas is the one with the lowest carbon footprint and it is important to note that the gas system is increasingly affected by the diffusion of renewable energy through the use of gases such as biomethane, synthetic methane and, in the near future , hydrogen. 100 million euros will be invested, 22.5 of which will be destined for the Arezzo area.“

“Centria is a company that operates an essential public service – he claims Roberto Rappuolipresident of Centria – which has contributed to the economic development and well-being of territories and communities. With this campaign it further affirms its role and is among the few distribution companies that have decided to make connections free. A concrete way to demonstrate one’s corporate social responsibility.“

Participation in the Centria promotional campaign can take place until March 31, 2025 and will involve 74 municipalities in the provinces of Arezzo, Florence, Grosseto, Pistoia, Perugia and Prato
