«Your photo on our racing cars»

CERVARESE SANTA CROCE (PADUA) – A racing Ford roaring on the race track. It is the last photo posted on his Facebook page by Demis Quagliato, the boyfriend of Valentina Renso, the 26-year-old driver who died on Monday three days after a very serious road accident along Via Croce in Cervarese. And now at a race the girl’s face will stand out on the bonnets of the cars. «You were angry because the helmet was too large and you couldn’t see out, the seat was uncomfortable and the belts were too tight – writes Demis -. When you were in the car you talked to me: you said that I have talent and that you believed in me for a future as a driver. You supported me in everything I did. Me and all the guys will make your dream come true. I love you Ferret.”

The tragic end of Valentina, resident in San Giovanni Lupatoto in the Veronese area, an interior designer by profession but with a passion for car racing, has shocked friends and acquaintances. A touching memory also came from Racing Club Events which organizes motorsport events: «Valentina, a splendid girl, flew into heaven. On the occasion of the “Montegrappa Legend” and the “Lady-Montegrappa Legend Project” some of our club’s standard bearers will have a photo of Valentina on the bonnet as if she were still there with us». The young girl raced for the Labs Automotive team in Novara. You had started your career with Fiat 500s and Mazdas. But her favorite car was the black BMW 320 that she was driving on Saturday evening towards Teolo, to cheer on her boyfriend who was registered at the “Polo Motor Show” taking place in the hamlet of Selve. At a roundabout, according to what was ascertained by the police, the car cut a semi-curve and violently impacted the well of a pipeline and then overturned. A carambola that reduced the BMW to a mass of twisted sheet metal. With her on board were two friends, one of whom is still with a reserved prognosis. Valentina was hospitalized in Padua where doctors declared her brain dead at 6pm on Sunday. At 11am the next day her heart stopped beating.
