ROME, MAY 14 – From San Felice Circeo to Gaeta, passing through Anzio. Ten beaches in Lazio have been awarded the Blue Flag this year. A stable achievement compared to last year, with the ten locations being reconfirmed. Among the pearls of the region, which will therefore be able to boast the recognition of the most beautiful beaches, there are also Sabaudia, Fondi and Trevignano.
“Over 11% of the world’s beaches awarded with the 2024 Blue Flag are in Italy and we are proud to announce that 10 of these are located in Lazio” commented the regional councilor for Tourism Elena Palazzo. “My compliments, for this prestigious international banner – he added – go to the beaches of Gaeta, Sperlonga, Latina Mare, Sabaudia, San Felice Circeo, Fondi, Terracina, Minturno, Anzio and Trevignano Romano” declared the Tourism councilor. «Another good news for tourists and swimmers, which adds to the excellent data from Arpa Lazio on the quality of our waters and which once again confirms Lazio as an ideal destination for sea lovers. With my department I will continue to promote our Region with the utmost commitment as a top-class tourist destination in Italy and around the world. It’s time to invest our best energies in a strategic asset for the Lazio economy”, concluded councilor Elena Palazzo.
The 2024 Blue Flags were awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) to coastal municipalities and tourist ports and were announced this morning.
The initiative has reached its 38th edition.
This year too, those of the Pontine islands as well as the province of Viterbo remain outside the list of the most beautiful beaches. (HANDLE).
