The Pescara ultras return to the charge, and once again target the owner Daniele Sebastianialready the subject of intimidation in recent months: tension is therefore growing in the Abruzzo club environment, in particular due to the bitter elimination from the play-offs following the home defeat against Juventus Next Gen.
In fact, last night a disturbing banner appeared whose meaning is difficult to misunderstand, placed right in front of the entrance to the Curva Nord, i.e. the sector of the Adriatico-Giovanni Cornacchia Stadium occupied by organized supporters. “We will not have peace until we see Sebastiani written here lies!“, we read in the message addressed to the president, fully understandable if it is combined with the other macabre element added by the ultras, namely the reproduction of a coffincomplete with a cross, bearing the name of Daniele Sebastiani.
The 3-1 defeat by Juventus Next Gen is just the umpteenth disappointment of a season well below the fans’ expectations, but in reality the relationship between the president and a good part of the organized fans has been fraying for a long time. The premature exit from the play-offs to access the Serie B championship, therefore, is more of an element that adds to a widespread and already strong discontent, rather than the triggering cause of yet another grievance against the club’s owner blue-white.
The next one will be the fourth consecutive championship that Pescara will compete in Serie C, so discontent in the corner is nothing new. Last March 1st, in fact, the ultras had started another disturbing protest, also in this case outside the entrance to the Curva Nord of the Adriatico Stadium: then two mannequins bearing the names of president Daniele Sebastiani and sports director Daniele Delli Carri, who were hanged from the external railing of the sports facility.
For the moment the president has not yet commented on the episode, but for some time he has been working secretly to sell his company shares and leave Pescara, even if no significant news has been recorded so far. For now we only know that there is strong interest from an American group, which has reportedly started a project negotiation with company leaders.
Sebastiani has time to act no later than June 15th, but in any case the club’s registration in the championship on June 4th is not at risk.
