The quintuplets were born from an exceptional birth in 2002 and made their lives even more extraordinary by all graduating on the same day. The family described the economic difficulties and the enormous help from the University, which was essential for the 5 brothers to complete their studies.

Last Monday the quintuplets all graduated together from Montclair State University, becoming the first and only quintuplets in New Jersey to receive degrees on the same day. The 5 brothers had already caused a lot of talk about themselves, when the local news reported on their exceptional birth, but this time they achieved an important life goal together.
Their mother, Silvia Povolo, told the University News that she was very excited: “My husband and I feel immense joy at the goal that our children are reaching, since they were born we have been reminding them that culture is like a key that opens a golden door”

Family sacrifices
Managing the life, growth and studies of 5 children was not easy for the family. The 5 boys, in fact, they always worked during their studies, to afford books and courses.
Micheal, one of the quintuplets, the university reports, said: “I still remember when we talked about college after school, wondering how we were going to afford the expenses multiplied by 5”.

The concern was also shared by the parents, as well as by all the siblings, but by inquiring with the University they managed to obtain funding for all 5 years of study and, given the excellent scholastic results, some scholarships. Victoria said, interviewed by the university: “If we hadn’t received help from the university, I would have been ready to give up my dreams for the financial stability of the family”
Their mother in fact stated that given the help received and the sacrifices of the boys, this title is doubly valid for them: “It is a moment of such great joy that words cannot describe it”.
The graduated quintuplets
Born in 2002, the 5 boys each finished their course of study on Monday and the teachers repeated their surname over and over again during the day.
Although this story seems to confirm the belief that there is a special relationship between twins that leads them to live in symbiosis throughout their lives, cultivating the same passions, this is not the case. Let the university know, that the 5 brothers each graduated in a different subject. Not only that, as the boys grew up they each developed different inclinations.
Victoriaone of the two females among the 5 brothers, graduated in Biochemistry and is now about to undertake a course in forensic medicine. Ashley who graduated in English literature, dreams of becoming a teacher and during her college years did an Erasmus in England, measuring the distance from her brothers. “I understood thanks to the distance that they are not just my brothers, they are my best friends” explained Ashley interviewed by the University and Victoria promptly replied: “It is very important for us to be togetherand when we are far away we are already thinking about organizing ourselves to see each other again”.

Ludovico he graduated in Political Science, encouraged by a professor who noticed in him, during the first year of law school, the subject he had chosen from the start, his predisposition for this different field. Michael he is the sportsman of the family, midfielder of the team lacrosse of the Red Hawks, also passionate about nutrition science. Marcusthe last of the 5, loves finance, has already worked for an American giant and has chosen to live on campus where it is easier for him to study, instead of at home, with his 5 brothers.
The boys, graduates, are already projected towards the future, their father explains: “One door closed, a new one opens, now the kids think about what’s to come, and we hope it will be beautiful“.
