Tomorrow evening, in Rende, at 7.30 pm, at the Hotel S. Francesco, the public meeting will be held From the olive grove to quality extra virgin olive oilorganized by Rotary Club Cosenza Sette Colli.
After greetings from Francesco Bozzopresident of the Cosenza club, the initiative will be introduced and moderated by Antonella De Lucanutritionist, and will see the intervention of the agronomist Mario Reda.
Fragrant, tasty, a great friend of the heart and of health in general, oil is a food with very high nutritional qualities. Easy to digest, it is one of the strengths of the Mediterranean diet, being recommended for all ages, as it promotes high energy during growth phases and sporting activities and has an important antioxidant action, as it contributes to the slowing down of aging of cells.
Add to this its important contribution to the prevention of coronary pathologies. These peculiarities are even more evident in extra virgin olive oil or EVO, which is the only oil produced with simple pressure and crushing of the olives, without further chemical-physical manipulations. A universally appreciated product, whose growing consumption is favoring a renewed development of cultivation activity in the younger generations, with the tendency towards the return of olive groves in various Italian wooded areas.
Finally, the event will be enriched by a pleasant moment of tasting in which the extra virgin olive oil can be savored in its most natural combination, that is, on a slice of freshly baked bread. (rcs)
