Fatal accident in Mortegliano, who is the victim

The accident in Mortegliano yesterday afternoon.

Yes called Gianfranco Savani, the man who lost his life in the tragic accident that occurred yesterday afternoon, May 13th, around 6pm, in Lavariano di Mortegliano. The man, an 82 year old well known in the villagewas entering Via Mortegliano a few meters from his house when he collided with a bus that was passing at the time.

The violent impact he threw the car onto the side of the road. When the 118 paramedics arrived, there was nothing left for Savani to do: the man died instantly. About fifteen people were traveling on public transport, all of whom were unharmed, as was the driver.

Savani was the owner of a painting and lifting company which bore his name, leaves behind his wife Franca and three children Costantino, Dimitri and Anastasia. He had founded his company in 1975 after a period of working abroad as an emigrant; he still went to the office every day and was very active in community life, especially in world of local sport who he had sponsored over the years and was a supporter of the local band. The news of his tragic death has shocked the community who rallied around the family.
