Seventeen years of service for the Volunteer Fire Brigade of Mirandola – SulPanaro

On May 12th the Mirandola Volunteer Fire Brigade celebrated an important milestone: 17 years have passed since the opening of the detachment in 2007, established thanks to the commitment of the then municipal administration of Mirandola and the Provincial Fire Brigade Command of Modena. The first headquarters of the detachment was made available by the entrepreneur Albertino Reggiani.

The idea was to provide punctual and efficient coverage to the Mirandola area and surrounding areas, a promise also kept in the face of the “Rescue Italy in 20 minutes” project, whose objective was to guarantee a response for urgent technical rescue in adequate times.

Since then, the Volunteer Brigades have faced moments of difficulty, such as the 2012 earthquake which made their historic headquarters unusable and the Covid-19 pandemic. However, their presence has never waned: from 2007 to today, more than 3,500 interventions have been carried out, not counting the numerous surveillance for events and moments of representation.

Today the detachment lives thanks to the dedication and perseverance of the 21 firefighters who voluntarily serve there. A number destined to grow with the imminent arrival of 4 aspiring volunteers who will soon finish the training course to join the National Volunteer Fire Brigade. The Detachment is operational 24 hours a day on call with availability, while a team is present on site every evening from 8pm to midnight and every holiday and weekend from 8am to 8pm.

The police are now in their historic barracks in via Caduti di Nassiriya 3 in Mirandola, where they returned last year and are continuing their rescue mission with commitment, courage and devotion. Here they can enjoy the help of the Friends of the Mirandola ODV Volunteer Fire Brigade association which supports the detachment’s activities by purchasing the equipment necessary to guarantee an ever better service to citizens, and to improve the safety conditions of its firefighters.

Anyone who wishes can help the association with a tax-deductible donation or simply by donating 5×1000 of the IRPEF. For the taxpayer it will be sufficient to indicate the association’s tax code 91026140367 in the section dedicated to the act of submitting their tax return and affix a signature. It costs the citizen nothing, but for the association and the detachment it is a gesture of great value.
