Mediterranean Games, Perrini (FdI): agreements with the 18 municipalities signed from yesterday until 15 May.

IN LESS THAN A YEAR FERRARESE HAS DONE AN EXCELLENT WORK

“I congratulate the commissioner Massimo Ferrarese – because despite the numerous obstacles and in less than a year from the appointment, together with the Ministers Raffaele Fitto (European Affairs, South, PNRR and Cohesion Policies), Andrea Abodi (Sport) and the mayors of the Ionian capital regardless of political color – has done an excellent job. An extraordinary result that rewards the commitment and determination of the Government and the commissioner, a tangible sign of how cooperation can actually make a difference.

“In fact, starting from yesterday and until Wednesday? next, May 15th, Ferrarese will sign the memoranda of understanding with the 18 Municipalities included in the first masterplan, which was financed by some interministerial decrees for 167 million euros to be used for the construction and (above all) for the redevelopment of sports facilities. In particular, Ferrarese will directly carry out, with its commissioner structure, the most important works and with the signed memoranda of understanding it will not only finance the municipal administrations, but will collaborate and supervise so that all the works necessary for the holding of the Mediterranean Games scheduled by the 21 August to 3 September 2026 and with a timetable that the local authority will have to respect to complete the financed intervention.

“We need to work in synergy to achieve the relaunch of the city and the province, which is the common objective. Provided that we present a common front, we work as a team, we finally create an effective network to support the work that Commissioner Ferrarese is carrying out to fill the delays that have accumulated from 2019 to June 2023. But at the same time we must also think about the ‘after’ with the consequent difficulties in managing and maintaining sports facilities. For the umpteenth time I hope that we can all work together as a team, at all institutional and organizational levels, so that Taranto does not miss this beautiful opportunity represented by the 2026 Mediterranean Games. The benefits, moreover, will be for the entire Taranto community and ionic.”
