It is a never-ending saga, the one about the redevelopment of the former Ballarin stadium. Next week a delegation from the municipal administration will return to meet with the architect Guido Canali, it seems, to see how to resize the design in light of the fact that, to achieve what was planned in the northern portion, there would not be enough money. The project for the completion of the work does not yet exist, but according to a preliminary estimate, future works should cost between 2.5 and 3.5 million. Money that, at the moment, the municipality does not have. In reality there would be the treasure found in the 2023 surplus, of over 6 million: from this sum, however, those requested by each sector for sector expenses must be deducted. Moral of the story: not everything can be spent on public works, and it must also be taken into account that there is a lot of work to be done even without counting Ballarin. There is the seafront, the redevelopment of squares, streets and much more. How much will the creation of the park on the border with Grottammare absorb? It must be said that the 450 thousand euros made available by the Carisap Foundation must also be added to the municipal resources. This is a contribution that must be spent on a shared project that also has social purposes.
It is possible, therefore, that it will be used to create an auditorium or in any case an area for small shows within the park. The fact remains that the project with the prestigious signature must be remodeled in some way, to ensure that it can be implemented in the coming years without an excessive burden on public coffers. For now, after the elimination of the south and north curves and the east grandstand, we will proceed with the fencing, the construction of the entrances and the arrangement of the lawn over the entire area. The planned works will be carried out within the southern half of the field, including the planting of essences, paths and some waterways. A commemorative pavilion will be built in place of the southern curve. The enigma concerns the part closest to Grottammare, and therefore the remaining surface area, the refreshment areas and the arrangement of the north curve. The meeting with Canali should be held on Wednesday 15 May: the objective is to obtain a project idea with a lower profile than the current one. While downsizing the initiative, it would still bear the signature of a technician of the highest level: the administration aims to have a luxury business card, even if many members of the minority have never been in favor of this path, as well as part of the fans. Dissent was expressed on several occasions, during two open council meetings and during the presentation of the project idea, held in the auditorium in November 2022. The future of the former Ballarin area, in any case, is still to be written.
