Rafah, 9 May.

Gaza-InfoPal. Today, Thursday 9 May, Israel’s genocidal war in the Gaza Strip, supported by the United States and Europe, entered its 216th day: after Israel rejected and responded with arrogance to Hamas’s truce proposal, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, the occupation army invaded Rafah, in the south of the Strip, where almost two million Gazan Palestinians have been displaced, while it intensified bombings, killing and wounding numerous citizens.

The Israeli occupation army continued to bomb houses in several areas of the Gaza Strip, especially in Rafah where dozens of casualties have been reported in the last 24 hours.

Israeli forces continued their aggression in Rafah for a third day, including intense airstrikes and artillery bombardments, and the total closure of the Rafah and Kerem Abu Salem crossings.

In the early hours of the morning on Thursday, Israeli occupation planes committed a massacre in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza city, after bombing a multi-storey residential building, belonging to the Abu Sharia family, and inhabited by dozens of people, razing it to the ground.

The Civil Protection managed to recover the bodies of only five martyrs from under the rubble, while another thirty were unable to recover them due to poor capabilities.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health said in its daily statistical report that the Israeli occupation committed 4 massacres against families in the Gaza Strip, including 60 dead and 110 wounded transported to hospitals, in the last 24 hours.

“There are still numerous victims under the rubble and on the streets, and ambulances and civil protection cannot reach them,” he added.

He reported that the toll of Israeli aggression has risen to 34,904 martyrs and 78,514 wounded since October 7th.

A woman was killed and her son was seriously injured in an Israeli airstrike near the Al-Dirawi mosque in Deir Al-Balah.

Another Palestinian was killed during intense shelling in the southern areas of the Al-Zaytun neighborhood, east of Gaza city.

Fires broke out in several houses due to Israeli heavy artillery shelling around the Ali Mosque on Street 8, south of the Al-Zaytun neighborhood.

In the early hours of today, the occupation forces stormed the southern areas of the Al-Zaytun neighborhood, amid intense gunfire.

The military incursion came just hours after Israeli warplanes bombed at least four homes belonging to the families of Abu Hawar, Yassin, Daud and Nasser.

Israeli warplanes also bombed the Abu Shaaban family’s home near the Saraya crossing in central Gaza.

Airstrikes were reported in the Al-Sabra neighborhood of southern Gaza, targeting the vicinity of the Al-Istiqaba mosque.

25 wounded Palestinians have arrived at the Kuwaiti hospital in the city of Rafah following Israeli artillery shelling on several local houses.

Intense artillery shelling was also reported on Thursday morning in the eastern neighborhoods of Rafah and in the vicinity of the Rafah land crossing.

Meanwhile, four Palestinians were killed and 16 others injured in an Israeli airstrike on the Eid family’s home in Tal Al-Sultan, west of Rafah.

UNRWA: Since the military operation by Israeli forces intensified on May 6, around 80,000 people have fled Rafah, seeking refuge elsewhere. The price for these families is unbearable. No place is safe.
