UDINE – Journalism in mourning, Giuseppe Liani, historical face of Rai in Friuli Venezia Giulia, passed away this morning, Thursday 9 May. He was 68 years old. He died in the protected facility that had welcomed him in recent months.

Journalist and essayist, retired in 2016, Liani began taking his first steps at Corriere di Pordenone of the Monti group, and then moved to Messaggero Veneto in Udine. In 1992 he joined Rai at Gr3. Only a year later he returned to Friuli Venezia Giulia with the transfer to the regional editorial office first in Trieste and then in Udine. Politics is also among his passions. As a young man he moved within the ranks of the Social Democratic Party. But in his professional life there is more than just information. Contract professor at the University of Trieste and essayist, he has worked on ancient history, religion and politics. Among his publications are The Original Sin, the special statute of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region in the parliamentary debate of the III legislature.
