50-year-old sets fire to external commercial structure

Ragusa Police officers they reported a 51-year-old from Ragusa to the Judicial Authority in a state of freedom, held responsible for damage followed by fire committed against the owner of a commercial business and for illegal possession of a knife.

The events occurred in recent days, in the middle of the night, when a fire in a retail business in Ragusa in the Via Paestum area was reported to the Operations Room of the Police Headquarters. The Flying Squad Agents and the Fire Brigade intervened on site to put out the flames. The staff found that some cardboard boxes had been set on fire on a metal structure outside the business and which was used to display goods for sale.

Shortly afterwards, during the same night, after the initial investigations, the Flying Squad Agents managed to track down the fifty-one-year-old believed to be the perpetrator of the crime in the Via Risorgimento area. During the search the man was found in possession of 4 lighters and a knife which were seized.
