Breakthrough in the investigation on Giovanni Salathe 34 year old died on the night between 19 and 20 August last in front of the headquarters Sky of Rogoredoon the southern outskirts of Milan. Sala had been blocked by two security guards, present at the entrance to the company, and after having accused a illness it was dead. But, when intervening, one of the two vigilantes placed himself on top of the 34-year-old and took it blocked on the ground with one knee on his back for just over a minute. The autopsy revealed the hypothesis that he had died cardiac arrest, excluding thoracic fracture. An investigation was thus opened manslaughter. But yesterday, Wednesday 8 May, the turning point. As reported the Republicthe prosecutor’s office, with the prosecutor Alessandro Gobbisclosed the investigation into the two vigilantes who are now under investigation for aggravated manslaughter because they would have “arbitrarily given vent to violent instincts and to no avail prevaricators“.

The prosecutor reconstructed the story in the courtroom, which was also caught on camera. That night, Sala was “in a clear state of agitation and following the massive intake of alcohol and drugs”, runs along Via Russolo and approaches the entrance to Sky several times, shouting incoherent phrases: “They are chasing me, call the police”. Then the intervention of the vigilantes with “sudden And unmotivated punches in the face.” One of the two guards launched them and then – continues Gobbis – “arbitrarily decides to stop it with the Force in the absence of any danger “doing so”fall to the ground“. “Once on the ground, both vigilantes “forcefully immobilize him, without any need to protect people or things from concrete dangers”. And specifically, a security guard “held him immobilized on the side of bust” – we read in the indictment – while his colleague “kept him immobilized on the side of the legs“.

Sala tried to wriggle but then he has lost consciousness and the arrival of help was in vain. According to the prosecutor, the 34-year-old dies from “terminal decompensation of diffuse myocardial ischemia that arose in the context of acute intoxication of cocaine” but “the concausal action of the conduct must also be considered violent” of the guards “which produced a state of further stress”. Cocaine alone – concludes Gobbis – “would not have been sufficient to cause death”.
