PALERMO – The confiscation has become definitive. The assets of the heirs of boss Mario Marchese pass forever to the state patrimony. They are worth one million euros. Deceased eight years ago, born in Monreale, born in 1939, “Uncle Mariano” Marchese had already received a conviction at the time of the maxi-trial.

He was arrested again in 2016 with the accusation of having become, at the age of 77, the new head of the district of Santa Maria di Gesù.

His criminal record sinks the roots go even further back in time. In 1981 the police raided a villa where drugs were being discussed. They were greeted by gunfire. It was said that Marchese was also in that house.

Benedetto Capizzi was certainly present who in 2008 would end up in prison on charges of being the head of the Villagrazia district. Capizzi pretended to be ill and was serving a life sentence for murder under house arrest. In the meantime he tried to reorganize the Cosa Nostra dome.

The two bosses have always been great friends. So much so that Capizzi got Marchese out of trouble by saying that he had lent him the car. This is why the car in 1981 was parked in front of the blitz villa in the Villagrazia district. Marchese then sent to the Prosecutor’s Office, while he was at large, proof that he was at the doctor’s on the day of the raid.

With the arrest of Marchese, in 2016, the wiretaps came out in which he defined Totò Riina and Bernardo Provenzano as “mischievous”, but their deaths were seen as the start of a new season for the entire Cosa Nostra.

Mischini (poor things ed.), but also an obstacle for the future of the organization. The death of the godparents could represent the turning point, because otherwise “they don’t see their luster”.

Not just the death of Riina and Provenzano but of “everything nearby”, of those who “were under them… Graviano, Bagarella, this one from Castelvetrano…”. And that is Matteo Messina Denaro. Time passes for everyone and they spare no one from ailments.
