A serious accident involved a truck, which he transported paracetic acid, and a car along theA21 motorway in Piacenza causing one death and numerous poisonings. The victim, it is learned, is the driver of the truck.

Fatal accident on the A21

According to what we learn, the accident occurred on the morning of Thursday 9 May on the A21 in Piacenza, south lane, at the entrance to the Nure service area.

The truck driver apparently lost control of the vehicle and hit a car with three people on board. The man died instantly, while the three were left intoxicated.

The 118 vehicles, the air ambulance and the fire brigade teams were on site but were unable to save the driver of the truck.

Seven intoxicated by acid

The truck, as mentioned, was carrying paracetic acid which caused the poisoning of seven people.

In fact, in addition to the three occupants of the vehicle involved in the accident, four other people who provided first aid felt ill.

Everyone was transported to Piacenza hospital, but according to what we understand, none of their lives are in danger.

What is paracetic acid

Paracetic acid is a peroxyacid substance, meaning it is highly oxidizing. It is an acid that appears as a colorless liquid with a pungent odor.

Adequately treated and purified, it is put into a commercial solution and is available for sale in the form of acetic acid and hydrogen peroxide.
