In recent days, Municipal Police patrols intervened to investigate two road accidents in which the drivers had a blood alcohol level higher than that permitted by law.

In the first accident, the woman driving lost control of the vehicle hitting a stone wall which was destroyed and the car also suffered extensive damage. In the second, the driver went off the road with the car and ended up inside a water drainage canal adjacent to a nursery.

Both were reported to the Judicial Authority for having caused accidents while intoxicated with a rate higher than 1.5 g/l, i.e. the highest range foreseen for this type of violation. Fortunately neither of the two women suffered any injuries.

Also in recent days, during an extraordinary check, a patrol stopped a driver of a vehicle who was showing a counterfeit document to Municipal Police officers. The checks revealed that the woman had never obtained a driving license and by showing the fake license she thought she was misleading the officers. The woman was reported for possession of the counterfeit driving document and a fine of 5,000 euros was imposed on her.
