About two hundred people filled the Martelli hall of Toscanella di Dozza on the evening of Wednesday 8 May 2024 to witness the face-to-face meeting between the mayoral candidates of Dozza Luca Albertazzi of Progetto Dozza and Luca Mainieri of the Cambiamento per Dozza e Toscanella list, a progressive coalition that includes various centre-left, M5S and civic political subjects. The Nuovo Diario Messaggero organized and moderated the meeting with the director Andrea Ferri and the editorial staff of the weekly. The public was invited from the beginning not to react with applause and interventions and certainly the very high competitive climate of the Dozzese electoral campaign was held back and dampened. This perhaps allowed us to better address various topics: the flood, healthcare and the post-pandemic, volunteering, obviously the open question of the CFG waste treatment plant in Toscanella. But also his own political choices: Albertazzi started with the Democratic Party and then left to found Progetto Dozza «far from old party logic and ideological affiliation», Mainieri joined the Progetto Dozza association and then left due to «the lack of dialogue and the betrayal of the idea initial”. Both very calm, the candidates did not fail to tease each other. To director Ferri’s final and “personal” question «name a political strength and weakness of your opponent», Luca Mainieri replied: «Luca Albertazzi certainly has an oratorical ability that I envy him, his flaw is his lack of empathy» .
