The point on the public and private reconstruction activity in Alto Mugello after the meteorological events of May 2023. This is what was done this morning during a table that took place at Palazzo Strozzi Sacrati and was attended by the President of the Region, as sub-commissioner for reconstruction, with the structure of the extraordinary commissioner Francesco Paolo Figliuolo and the local administrations involved in the flood that hit the Alto Mugello between 15 and 17 May 2023. Representatives of the Metropolitan City were also present , of the Municipalities of the Municipality of Marradi, Firenzuola, Londa and San Godenzo, the Municipality of Palazzuolo sul Senio, the Renana Reclamation Consortium, the Western Romagna Reclamation Consortium. And the technicians of the Tuscany Region.
The president of the Region is satisfied and underlines how the work developed by the sub-commissioner, in harmony with commissioner Figliuolo, for the Tuscan area has found concrete answers in the urgent and structural interventions that have been set up, a team work that is moving forward between the commissioner structure, local institutions with the coordination of the Region. Particular satisfaction was then expressed by the president for the allocation of 30 million to the Faentina line, in serious difficulty due to landslides.
The meeting was an opportunity for the implementing bodies to take stock of the progress of the restoration and repair interventions for the most urgent needs. 1,873,000 euros were assured to the Tuscany Region respectively for the hydraulic defense interventions implemented by the Land Reclamation Consortia and 22,533,390 euros for the restoration interventions of the roads and road infrastructures implemented by the Municipalities and the Metropolitan City of Florence.
In addition to guaranteeing maximum availability and collaboration with respect to the issues put on the table by the local administrations, the commissioner structure also announced the allocation of financial resources of 30 million euros for the works to be carried out on the Faentina railway line: the start of the procedure The tender for the awarding of the works is scheduled for September 2024 and the start of the works for mid-2025.
From the meeting it emerged that the entities are carrying out all the activities necessary to start the construction sites within the current year.
Furthermore, with respect to the package of interventions already authorized, by the summer, the commissioner structure will approve, through the reuse of PNRR funds referred to in line 2.1a, a remodulation and integration of the financial resources already allocated for over 50 million euros which among other things, they will allow the planning of further interventions, giving a clearly decisive response compared to the framework of the critical issues arising from last May’s event.
An assessment was also made of the state of progress of the contribution procedures in favor of private entities and productive activities, with respect to which the maximum agreement was renewed to speed up as soon as possible the preliminary investigation process to be carried out to ensure the contributions arrive. to the applicants but, at the same time, also to raise awareness among citizens of the possibility of still being able to submit an application taking into account that the deadlines are still open.
Please note that the framework of resources allocated by Commissioner Figliuolo’s structure is in addition to the further resources allocated and to date already disbursed by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, through the Regional Civil Protection Department, for approximately 15 million euros, of which over 14.7 were allocated to guarantee the execution of the extremely urgent interventions which have now been completed.
