The prefecture of Catania coordinated the urgent transport of a child suffering from multiple pathologies from the Garibaldi hospital in Catania to a hospital in Trieste. The seven-year-old boy from the Etna province urgently needed specialist care at the Burlo Garofolo hospital in Trieste due to his complex health conditions but could not be transported on civil flights.
Thanks to the operation coordinated by the prefecture which worked in close collaboration with the healthcare professionals of the Garibaldi hospital and with the Air Force, which made its own plane available and organized the flight, the little patient was transported in just a few minutes. hours and with maximum safety from the Etna capital to the extreme eastern edge of the peninsula.
The prefect of Catania Maria Carmela Librizzi expressed her gratitude to all the people involved in the success of the operation: “We are deeply grateful to the doctors and healthcare workers who guaranteed the necessary care for our young patient at the Garibaldi hospital. We wish also thank the Air Force for the speed and efficiency with which it organized the flight”.
