Spotlight on via Anzani in Como. Last night the police identified 20 people (8 already known to justice). A 20-year-old resident of the city was arrested for possession for the purpose of dealing. He attempted to hide 4 grams of cocaine under a glass while he was sitting outside a club.
In addition to the arrest, the report speaks of an 18-year-old of Algerian origins sanctioned for possession of 2 grams of hashish. The officers also discovered other small quantities of hashish hidden nearby. The checks by the Administrative and Security Police Division, in collaboration with the carabinieri of the Labor Protection Unit and with the canine group of the Guardia di Finanza, the Local Police of Como and ATS. During the investigations, some administrative irregularities and high fines of around 1700 euros were detected, closing part of the activity of a bar reserved for gastronomy and reporting further irregularities which, once defined, provide for fines ranging from 3000 to 24,000 euros. Checks will continue in the area, also on the basis of reports from now exasperated citizens. Even in broad daylight there is no shortage of situations of degradation and noise. In the area of urban security, in two months – between March and April – the local police in the areas with enhanced protection (these include the Ippocastano area) carried out 127 checks. 24 removal orders issued.
The enhanced protection area also includes Piazza San Rocco, the lakeside gardens, the spaces around the Basilica of the Crucifix and in front of the former church of San Francesco as well as the entire walled city. Added to these data are 6 requests for reporting photos at the police station and 7 reports for possession of drugs for personal use. Overall there were 159 violations of the urban police regulation, including 12 acts contrary to public decency, 2 for harassing begging. Furthermore, 4 street artists without authorization were detected, as well as 9 people who were consuming alcohol in a place open to the public. 7 cases of drunkenness. Finally, the total includes various violations against dog owners and 44 vehicles parked in green areas.
