Matteo, how did the season go?
“The balance is positive, we set ourselves the objective of reaching the playoffs and we achieved it with full merit, from 2nd in the standings, of course we also believed we could win, I won’t deny it, but also because the first position we occupied several times during the year, and if we had been a little more careful we could still have reached equal points with Morazzone, but let’s not forget where we came from, I have been here for 7 years and we have been through a lot, today I can say that we have finally recovered and we have a very important match ahead of us in which we can still play everything”. “I am also satisfied with my season, certainly one of the best – continues the attacker – I have had no ailments, I only missed one match due to suspension and I must say that this helped me a lot”.
Who would you give the Golden Ball to?
“I must say that there are important candidates, who have done very well, I knew them all except Schulz, a really strong young man who had a great season, but if I have to name a name I’ll say Lercara, partly because he is a friend of mine and I I’ve always known him, partly because he’s phenomenal and out of category”.
What was your best game of the season?
“Luckily I’ve scored more than a few good ones, with Gorla for example in the first leg I scored a double, but if I have to choose one I’d say the match against Lonate in which I scored a hat-trick”.
Who is your Idol?
“One name above all is Alessandro Del Piero, I am a Juventus player and I grew up with him”.
If you won, who would you dedicate this award to?
“First of all I would dedicate it to myself, then obviously to my family and my girlfriend who always follow me, and also to the club because I have been here for a long time and it has always believed in me”.
