Bolzano, 8 May 2024 – Un big fire it exploded around 9.15am in Bolzano in the Piani artisan area, near the general warehouses.
To go up in flames the entire Alpitronic factoryworld leader in charging columns for electric cars, in via di Mezzo ai Piani. The fire broke out in an area where renovation works are underway and quickly spread. There were no injuries or victims. Was airspace over the city closed. A high school which is located nearby was evacuated.

“The situation is under control and the only precaution to take is keep windows closed nearby. There are firefighters and technicians from the Environment Agency on site.” This is what the Municipality of Bolzano to ANSA.
The South Tyrolean Civil Protection also communicates that “I am in Bolzano intense fumes present. It is advisable to keep doors and windows closed and to turn off air conditioning and ventilation systems.”
Firefighters laid hoses towards the Isarco to pump water from the nearby river to put out the fire. Firefighters fought the fire from all sides with ladder trucks to ensure a sufficient water supply water is also drawn from the river.
After about two hours the fire was brought under control. About a hundred firefighters from Bolzano and the surrounding area intervened on site. To monitor the extinguishing works and to locate any new outbreaks, the firefighters used a drone which also immortalized the vastness of the fire.
