“Petrosino, mayor Anastasi renews the ordinance for fire prevention”

A union ordinance for the prevention of fire risk has been issued with the aim of preventing and reducing the risk of fires in the municipal area, in force from 15 May to 31 October 2024.

The collaboration of all citizens is required to comply with the following provisions:

Do not pile waste or herbaceous residues near woods or uncultivated land.

It is forbidden to light fires, explode mines, use naked flame or electric devices to cut metals.

Do not use motors, stoves or incinerators that produce sparks or embers.

Smoking and throwing cigarette butts from passing vehicles are prohibited.

Do not use fireworks outside designated areas.

Burning stubble, herbaceous material, brushwood and pruning residues is prohibited.

Avoid any operation that could cause fire.

Obligations of owners, tenants or managers of agricultural land:

Keep the land clean, eliminating brushwood, brambles and dry vegetation.

Clean a strip of at least 20 meters from the road embankment of any combustible material.

Remove dry vegetation around buildings and from property lines for a strip of at least 10 metres.

Failure to comply with the provisions will be subject to sanctions.
