After a year, the wood brought downstream by the flood of May 2023 is still on the side of the road along the Ganzole provincial road, and this represents a threat and danger to traffic. This was underlined in the regional council by the group leader of the Civic Network Marco Mastacchi who in question time asked the council what stage the disposal of the piles of wood and debris along the roads of the Apennines, in private areas and in courtyards and specifically, in the locality of Ganzole di Sasso Marconi, and what times are expected for an adequate removal of piles of debris from the roadsides, to secure the traffic in the town center and outside and make the homes livable.
“The bad weather of recent days has made the situation worse, with flows of water flowing along the road surface washing away the debris on the roadside, making the asphalt slippery and dangerous.
The ‘Ganzole’ road is a primary connection for traffic between Sasso, Pianoro and Bologna with large truck traffic. It is essential to restore good road conditions, not only for citizens but also for businesses” underlined Mastacchi, to whom councilor Priolo responded and clarified that the maintenance of roads from the point of view of vegetation is not the responsibility of the Region but is the responsibility of to the Metropolitan City. “We have discussed with the Municipality of Sasso which, regarding part of the wood, has assured that it will be recovered by mid-May, while the remaining debris and materials will be disposed of by the end of May”, reassured Priolo. .
