The deputy prefect Francesca Montesi chaired a meeting of the provincial committee for public order and safety, convened to plan the measures of safety And security on the occasion of the 13th stage of the 107th edition of the Giro d’Italia Riccione (Rn)-Cento (Fe), scheduled for next May 17th.
On that day the Ferrara area will also be affected by the collateral events “Pedalata cicloturistica Mediolanum” and “Giro ‘E”, the latter event reserved for the use of pedal-assisted bicycles starting from Argenta and always arriving in Cento in the same hours as the stage of professionals.
Present at the meeting were the mayor of Cento, the leaders of the local law enforcement agencies, as well as qualified representatives of the Province, of the Fire Brigade, of the Traffic Police, of the Local Police of Cento and Argenta, of the 118 Service, of Anas , of Rcs Sport, of the regional civil protection and of the local volunteering.
During the meeting, in particular, all the surveillance and traffic control devices were planned, to allow the event to take place in complete safety, collected in specific ordinances, to the extent of specific competence, signed by the Prefect and the Mayor of Cento. In particular, the main critical points of the race route were identified and the actions to be taken were planned for the temporary closure of streets and squares, for the management of spectator flows and for limiting access to the areas at greatest risk.
Maximum attention was paid to the road conditions, which were the subject of specific inspections by the Traffic Police. When crossing the town of Cento, where the stage arrives, a careful strengthening of the surveillance system at the crossroads, intersections and sensitive points has been arranged, with the use of volunteers in addition to the police forces and the police. local. Furthermore, maximum dissemination of traffic closures and alternative routes to the population will be ensured.
From a health perspective, the emergency vehicles made available by the RCS organizer will be supported by ambulances mobilized by the 118 service and the Red Cross, and at the same time the hospitals in Cento and Argenta will be strengthened. To best deal with any emergency situations, the Provincial Fire Brigade Command will be present upon arrival with its own emergency response team.
On the occasion of the arrival of the stage, the Mayor of Cento will also order the closure of local schools for the entire day.
