Meeting between Tiziano Spada and Patrick Zaki: reflections on freedom

Regional parliamentarian Tiziano Spada joined the meeting at the Kore in Enna with Patrick Zaki, an Egyptian human rights activist. The event, entitled “Dreams and Illusions of Freedom”, offered Zaki the opportunity to share his story and reflect on human rights and freedom of expression.

Spada underlined the relevance of these issues, highlighting the need to defend people’s rights. During the conference, Zaki received the honorary citizenship of Militello in Val di Catania. Spada reiterated the importance of promoting peace and resolving conflicts such as those in Ukraine and Israel-Palestine. He praised the president of Kore, Cataldo Salerno, for supporting discussion and critical thinking in universities.

He thanked Remon Karam, student representative, for organizing the event and his commitment to peace. Spada praised both Karam and Zaki as positive examples for the younger generations, encouraging the valorization of models of peace.
