Big fire in Faggeto Lario, a 4-storey house on fire

Big fire today 7 May in Faggeto Lario in via Gradinata, Molina, around 11am. A four-storey building caught fire: the causes of the fire are being investigated. The Como firefighters intervened on site with several teams to manage the emergency.

The extinguishing operations proved to be particularly complex due to the limited accessibility to the building affected by the flames. To bring the equipment necessary to put out the fire to the site, the support of the Malpensa flight department was requested.

The air rescuers, on board the AW 139 “Drago 150” helicopter, intervened with the aircraft’s barycentric hook to transport a firefighting module by helicopter. This operation facilitated the extinguishing of the fire, which was completed by the firefighters, making the area involved safe. There were no injuries but they evacuated an elderly man who was then entrusted to the care of the 118 health workers. The clean-up operations are currently underway. The roof has partially collapsed with two slabs and the house is uninhabitable.
