The Paletti brothers
The Paletti brothers would have obtained favors and benefits from Matteo Cozzani in exchange for advantages for his family’s companies (which behind the scenes would also be managed by the former mayor), in exchange for political financing, but also free stays in their structure for « the friends” of Cozzani, trait d’union of the investigations underway in Genoa and La Spezia.
In the sights of the Prosecutor’s Office

Recovery interventions
On the island, the Region has allowed recovery interventions on old disused military buildings and the Paletti brothers, through their company Palmaria Experience, are replicating a super luxury resort on the canal which will include a bathing establishment, overlooking Porto Venere and the magical church of San Pietro. The project of transformation could also stop the old youth hostelonce village primary schoolthen closed due to lack of children, in a beauty farm linked to the Grand Hotel.
The preventive decree
In execution of the preventive seizure decree issued by the investigating judge of La Spezia, the carabinieri of the local forestry unit have seized the former «Michela Ravecca» nursery school and the construction site in the area of the former Carlo Alberto quarry on the Palmaria island. According to the prosecutors’ hypotheses, as mayor Cozzani would have created a tender for the development, through concession, of the school property adjacent to the Paletti family’s Grand Hotel, inserting a restrictive requirement that only they could have satisfied, i.e. the availability of a large room used as a gym in the center of the municipality.
