On the night between Sunday 5th and Monday 6th a bomb exploded in a bar. The explosion was clearly heard by citizens. The police are investigating the matter.
It was 3am on Monday 6 May when the citizens of Trasacco, a small town in the province of L’Aquila, were woken up by a loud bang. The first moments were lived with great fear since we didn’t know what had really happened. In the following minutes there was a much clearer understanding of what had happened.
It was one bomb exploded in a tobacconist bar in Trasacco. The explosion caused a lot of damage and risked having a very serious toll. In fact, at the time of the ambush, the owner and three customers were present in the restaurant, but fortunately There were no injuries. An investigation is now underway to identify the people who placed the bomb in the room.
The police are investigating
The Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation to trace those responsible for this ambush. THE Carabinieri are viewing surveillance cameras to identify the people responsible for the attack. According to the information we have, the videos show a car arriving in front of the bar, stopping. A man gets out of the car, lights something and throws it towards the bar. Immediately afterwards he gets back into the car and drives off at high speed.
At the moment there is no further information on the identity of this person. All investigations have been carried out to try to better reconstruct what happened and identify the person who carried out this attack on the Trasacco bar.
Extensive damage, but no injuries
As previously mentioned, the damage caused by this explosion was varied, but the overall toll could have been even more serious. At the time of the explosion the tobacconist bar was still open and There were three customers inside. Fortunately none of them suffered any damage and were interviewed by the investigators.
It will be up to the police to understand whether the lack of injuries was just a simple coincidence or the attacker wanted to send a simple warning to the bar managers and, therefore, not hit those present.
