At the center of Saturday’s meeting, however, was the issue of Palestinian refugees from nakba, a term used in the Arab world to mean the forced exodus of around 700,000 Palestinian Arabs between ’47 and ’48, up until today’s dramatic events. The speaker is the scholar Maria Chiara Rioliwho in addition to having worked in Palestine/Israel and having largely dealt with the history of Palestine in the modern and contemporary age and mobility in the Mediterranean, is also in the coordination of European projects dedicated to Jerusalem and contemporary migrations.

Finally, collateral to the historical cycle, the meeting with Egidia Beretta, protagonist of a speech focused on the commitment and history of his son Vittorio Vik Arrigoni, an activist from Bulciago killed in Gaza exactly 13 years ago. The meetings are held in the Conference Room of the Library (via del Beneficio 1) and are free to enter while places last.
