FORMENTERA (5 May 2024) – Accident between car and scooter yesterday May 5th in front of the supermarket”Ophiusa”near the town of Sant Ferran. It happened just before 7pm and unfortunately It is not the first time that crashes, sometimes very serious, have been recorded on this stretch of road. Luckily this time the budget is not dramatic, but initially the worst was feared: it was a girl who was injured German origin who was riding a rented scooter. Two ambulances arrived on site (another person was also slightly injured), the local police and the Civil Guard. The girl was transported to hospital but fortunately his condition is not serious.
Once again, the police invite maximum caution, obviously on all the roads of the island, but in particular between the supermarket “Ofiusa” and the crossroads for Ca Marìthe scene of serious accidents in the past, unfortunately including fatal ones. But this is not the only stretch of road on the island that is considered rather dangerous. Along the entire main road between La Savina and Es Calò we invite you to pay attention and to do not exceed the speed limits. In fact, there are long straights – unfortunately marked in mourning by crosses and bouquets of flowers in memory of those who lost their lives there – that induce speed. Another stretch of road where accidents occur is the one that from La Savina it leads to Es Pujols and runs alongside the salt marshes. As the images below demonstrate, some motorists lost control of their cars and ended up on the road.
