Plug-in hybrids with extended range in electric mode are arriving at home Skoda Superb wagon and Skoda Kodiaq. Two projects with the same technical and technological characteristics introduce the PHEV option with a 1.5 liter petrol engine to the price list.
The prices immediately, for example the price list starting from 48,800 euros for the new Skoda Kodiaq PHEV in Selection trim. The new Skoda Superb wagon PHEV starts from 50,750 euros in the same trim.
Performance and battery
The technical specifications of the hybrid with 25.7 kWh battery (rechargeable in AC at 11 kW, in DC at 50 kW) allow the station wagon to travel up to 134 km in electric mode, with declared energy consumption starting from 15.8 kWh. The weight is also interesting, contained in 1,853 kg, for a 4.90 meter long model.
The 204 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque are shared by the Superb and the Kodiaq, with performance differences that are reduced to nuances: 8″1 versus 8″4, in favor of the Superb, when accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h, 220 km/h versus 210 km/h in top speed.
New Kodiaq PHEV 1.5 travels up to 123 km on electric power and has slightly higher energy consumption: starting from 17.4 kWh. The overall weight stands at 1,916 kg.
The available fittings
The median trim level of the Kodiaq PHEV offer, the Executive, is positioned at 49,400 euroswhile the top of the range Style costs 51,950 euros.
The Superb wagon PHEV offer, however, sees the Style setup at 53,150 euros, the top of the range Laurin & Klement at 58,750 euros.
In addition to opening orders for plug-in hybrid engines, Skoda (here you can find the models on the used market) enriches the Superb offer with the option of the 2.0 TSI 265 horsepower 4×4 engine (in Style trim for 54,000 euros and top of the range Laurin & Klement). On the diesel front, wide range of the 2.0 TDI 193 hp 4×4 available in Selection trim (from 50,950 euros), Style and Laurin & Klement.
