Speaking to DAZN after the 3-3 home draw against Genoa, the AC Milan defender Alessandro Florenzi he returned to talk about the knockout at Derby and the Scudetto won by Inter at the Rossoneri’s home ground.
Did the elimination from the Europa League have an impact on your opinions? Or more the derby?
“In my opinion it weighed so much that in those 10 days we all played for each other a bit. There was hope on everyone’s part to compete for a trophy and we went out with Roma, certainly Inter’s Scudetto victory took something away. If another team had won, perhaps we would have been talking about something else, but still saddened by not having won the championship. But in my opinion we were talking about something else.”
Then, on REDE 98, the former Roma player added: “Then there are seasons that go like this, where we practically played everything. The two with Roma and the derby with Inter. It’s obvious that they move a little all the thoughts of the people. Having said that, I think that I and all the boys were ‘fried’ for this shirt, including the coach, because in any case he always gave everything he had and I’m sure that inside he is very sorry for this situation”.
