On Saturday 4 May 2024 the Vatican hosted a meeting between Pope Francis and the President of the Swiss Confederation, Viola Amherd. The day began with the Pope’s private audience with President Amherd, followed by in-depth discussions with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See, and Monsignor Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States.
