Rubano (PD) – The celebrations begin at the Club 91 Squadra Corse home at the end of a Hillclimb Levico – Vetriolo – Panarotta which saw the Rubano team take to the field with two spearheads, both in the limelight of historical news.

Massimo Maniero wins the overall, after a tight battle with Pizzato, leading the BMW M3 group A, managed by Man Racing, to a success achieved entirely in race 2.

After a Saturday of testing conditioned by unstable weather, the first ace of the Paduan team finished race 2 on Sunday in second position, suffering a deficit of 2″08.

The second round was based on the return of Maniero who, thanks to a great effort, inflicted 2″8 on his direct rival, going on to secure the victory with a margin of only seventy-two hundredths.

The triumph in the fourth group and in class A+2000 enriched his spoils.

“The day of testing didn’t help us at all” – says Maniero – “because on the first climb I didn’t want to push, trying to get the measure, while on the second it started to rain when we were already lined up for the start on the slicks . I had no references for race 1 but I pushed straight away, suffering a bit from the medium tire compound used which made me lose something at the start and in the first kilometres. I knew I could improve and so it was, thanks to the hot tires and the rubberized track, even if, to be honest, I expected to improve my partial more. I’m happy for the overall victory, that’s great. Thanks to Man Racing, to dad and my brother for the assistance, and to Club 91 Squadra Corse.”

Keeping him company on the third step of the overall podium was an excellent Massimo Ronconi who, competing with a Porsche 914/6 managed by Buratto Racing, also achieved success in the third group and in the SIL+2000 class, confirming what good seen at Cost.

“On the day of testing I paid for my lack of knowledge of the route” – says Ronconi – “and on the first climb I was careful to familiarize myself with the race route. In the next one, with second choice slicks, he set a mediocre time but the indications for the race were good. In race 1 I spun around and also messed around a bit with the gearbox while in race 2, despite some mistakes, we confirmed ourselves again in third place overall. It was nice to share the overall podium with Maniero, to whom I congratulate for the overall victory. Thanks to Buratto Racing and the Club 91 Squadra Corse.”

“What a weekend to remember for us” – says Daniele Martinello (president of Club 91 Squadra Corse) – “because being able to reach so high on the climbs, a world in which we are still taking our first steps as a team, was incredible. Thanks to our two Massimos we took home the overall victory and a podium, collecting two more successes in the group and in the relevant classes. We couldn’t ask for anything better.”
