Carlo Conti overwhelmed by criticism for hosting the David di Donatello: Alessia Marcuzzi has something to do with it. Here’s what happened.
Alessia Marcuzzi and Carlo Conti did not convince the public. The co-hosting at the David di Donatello appeared confused and ill-matched: two completely different styles of approaching the program which, according to some critics, undermined the entire evening. Conti, old school host, set and at times rigid, and Alessia, exuberant and unconventional, gave life to an event that was not fluid, but above all challenging to follow.
Too many pauses, but above all too many moments in which the two hosts were unable to interact. According to an authoritative TV critic, the two are not similar, and have not found the right way to co-host in a light and pleasant way for viewers. The event which celebrates Italian cinema and its protagonists also had some embarrassing moments which were managed exclusively by Carlo Conti.
The host of The best years he is the most accredited Rai face today. After the farewell to Amadeus, the network management seems to rely a lot on Conti, who however has a way of appearing in front of the decidedly canonical small screen. Pairing him with Alessia Marcuzzi did not turn out to be a happy idea: for social users the two together are not compatible. And if Marcuzzi’s exuberance was forgiven by the public, some of Carlo Conti’s ways of acting towards his colleague were not liked at all.

During the presentation of Donatello’s Davids Alessia Marcuzzi and Carlo Conti did not reveal themselves to be a close-knit couple. In some moments of the evening the host of Such and such show he directed the event without regard to attendance of my colleague or at least that’s what it seemed like. For this reason Conti ended up at the center of social criticism and controversy.
For some users, Carlo managed the stage exclusively, preventing Alessia Marcuzzi from intervening and speaking. Conti overcame some moments of embarrassment on his own, he did not seek the support of Alessia who in a composed manner avoided imposing her presence.

Several videos were shared on social media where Conti “obscures” the showgirl: “Her eyes are full of disappointment… he is immeasurable,” one user commented. It’s still: “It also seemed to me that at times he treated her like a valet, perhaps because at the beginning she started out a little too excited and he got annoyed.” After all, Conti is used to presenting alone and giving space to colleagues is difficult for him.
