A 26-year-old young woman lost her life last night in a tragic accident in Istrago di Spilimbergo. The victim is Chiara Bassutti, a resident of the city of mosaic, whose small car collided head-on with another car in via dei Ponti, on regional road 464, along the Cosa bridge.
According to initial reconstructions, around 9pm the girl lost control of her car while rounding a bend and collided with the vehicle coming from the opposite direction, in which two women, a mother and daughter, aged 73 and 44, were travelling. The crash was such that the victim’s small car ended up in the ditch on the side of the road. Doctors immediately arrived on site and tried to help the girl, but her injuries left her with no escape.
The 73-year-old who was driving the other car was unharmed, while her daughter was slightly injured. The two women were taken to the emergency room.
In the following hours the road was closed to allow the Spilimbergo firefighters to make the road safe and the Carabinieri of the Castelnovo station to carry out the first investigations.
