L‘image that the Basic Trade Union Union proposes takes us back a few years, and brings to mind the difficult phase of the pandemic when the protection of health, or rather of life, it had priority over everything else more than ever. Consequently, those who worked in the hospital facilities intended for the treatment of Covid, whatever role he played, it was considered essential. Some professional figures, at certain times, were considered “heroic”, because they risked their lives. Even more so were those, not only was at every moment the risk of contracting the disease, but he did it with a fixed-term contract.

“We cannot forget the sacrifice, the dedication to work and towards others, clearly shown at times by those who also had a very delicate clinical picture. This is why we ask with great strength and determination for answers to protect workers. We ask the Local Health Authority, Sanitaservice and the Region”.
Let’s start from the meeting that will be held on Monday with the new sole administrator of Sanitaservice.
“We have chosen to suspend the meeting scheduled for May 3, precisely because we were called by the new administrator of the ASL in-house company. We look forward to hearing, a few days after your appointment, how you intend to follow up on the work started by Dr. Di Leo and what you plan to do next. regarding the various aspects to which we have repeatedly drawn attention”.
What are the requests?
“The claim platform contains the following points: disbursement of the Covid-19 bonus foreseen by the Puglia Region and not yet disbursed, hourly increase for Cup operators and former Eureka and Girasole cooperatives, hiring of the 17 suitable people from the auxiliaries and cleaners ranking and scrolling of the same, exit of the 3rd Notice of SET 118, withdrawal and closure of disputes for higher roles as has already happened in several cases with another yardstick, consolidated experience, skills, functions acquired, for management, coordination, administrative and cleaner figures /auxiliaries, 118 and CUP, which lead to nothing more than a waste of money for legal expenses when the real saving would be the respect of a sacrosanct right for the work carried out, increase in the number of Team Leaders and scrolling of the ranking, and recognition of the dressing time and meal vouchers”.
What to say regarding the Region?
“Obviously the moment is special, given that now the Health Department’s box is uncovered. We do not have a direct interlocutor with whom to talk about the various issues we last discussed, on March 19th. There was anticipation in particular for the hiring for the auxiliary sector and 118, which, according to Palese and Montanaro, would only have the green light two weeks later. It’s been a month and a half and still nothing. We waited also that they were scheduled a series of meetings to address all the issues and critical issues that are no longer negligible, which are felt within the regional Sanitaservices. It must be said, however, that even the number of work units envisaged in the new hiring plan is insufficient to fill the real needs of the healthcare facilities.
In fact in the latest resolution the now former health councilor requires the local health authorities for the Sanitaservice to fix once and for all the services relating to cleaning, auxiliary, Cup and 118. We therefore expect immediate action to be taken on hiring in an area such as the Ionian one, where the shortage of staff is felt every day, from the point of view of users as well as workers forced to work extra shifts to maintain a certain standard. We therefore reiterate that the priority is the hiring of the units necessary to make up for the staff shortages present throughout the regional territory, and in all sectors involved in internalisation, to guarantee stability and improve the services offered to users, the recognition of foreseen contractual institutions, and the guarantee and security on the maintenance of Sanitaservices throughout the territory”.
