Pisa: During the Cub-Cobas garrison, meeting with Inail top management

During the demonstration held this morning under the Inail headquarters in Pisa (link article), Cobas Lavoro Privato and Cub di Pisa also met with the top management of Inail to whom they made some requests.

First of all, a real openness to a permanent dialogue with all trade union entities and not only with those of the joint bodies.

Furthermore, Cobas and Cub ask for contractual and veto power for the workers’ safety representative (RLS) so that this figure is not subordinate to the company safety chain.

Cub and Cobas urged the need to use the funds to allow training and profile changes for those not able to perform the tasks because the relocation of those struggling with permanent impairments resulting from accidents and occupational diseases remains a social commitment to be undertaken collectively.

The Pisan grassroots unions denounce the problems of health and lack of safety for those employed in environmental hygiene, in the road and rail sector, in logistics and in the varied world of contracts and subcontracts, in small companies where the lack of suitability for the job often leads to even dismissal.

The protection of health and safety in the workplace goes hand in hand with the protection of the national health service which is increasingly threatened by privatisation, lack of hiring and disinvestment, proof of which is the weakness of occupational and preventive medicine.

Work to live and not live to work

Enough with the exploitation of the workforce

Enough precariousness and starvation wages
