Yesterday, a weekday like today, it took us about 2 minutes from viale Borri towards the center and the intersection with via Gasparotto (we started slightly after today’s starting point, but arrived well beyond: click and see HERE), this time instead about 11 minutes. The experiment, as men of the street that we are and not as experts in intersections, roads and traffic, was conducted at the same rush hour, i.e. a few minutes after 5pm, but with a fundamental variable. This: the traffic light at the intersection with via Guicciardini, which leads to the main entrance of the Circolo hospital, was off yesterday, as was the one following it at the intersection with via Gasparotto, but today it was working.
Another note: in the event of the arrival of ambulances or cars that must urgently turn towards the Club, or enter Viale Borri from it, precedence – traffic lights or not – is a matter of common sense, or rather of civic sense, and is automatic , as can be verified when the traffic lights in Via Guicciardini are flashing.
Why, then, not try again to turn off the traffic light at the intersection of via Guicciardini with all the trappings of experts to check for more than a day if our “bread and salami” test, stopwatch in hand, can really help to streamline traffic without upheavals, taking into account that after the second traffic light at the intersection with Via Gasparotto the new Largo Flaiano has already eliminated the queues of those going to the center on that first stretch of Viale Borri?
